We're adopting a kitten! She's a maine coon mix (her mom is 18 pounds and may be a full-blooded maine coon). We have to wait another 2 weeks before we can bring her home (she needs to be at least 3 pounds).
Second: I think you should name it after me. And if that doesn't work for you, I have a list of names: 1) Walker, Texas Ranger 2) Shaft 3) KITTEH!!! (It's avant-garde, but you have to say it like Cartman would)
I love the name suggestions...there's something really great about naming a sweet, even-tempered cat after a Chuck Norris character.

Also, we both keep bursting out with "WE HAVE A KITTEH!!!" at random intervals. Which will only get worse when the kitteh actually comes to live with us.
She's adorable! I'm glad she's even-tempered as well -my in-laws own a maine coon mix who has a decided turn for drama and is very strong. At least visits can't help but be interesting :).
Names - on plans I initially suggested Justinian or Theodora, like the original Byzantine emperor power couple, but I think that would be better for a pair of cats. For a single cat, how about Schrodinger? ;)
